The Queerist is your new best friend. The one with the inside scoop and all the hookups. Your go-to source for queer stuff to do and gay places to go: city-by-city, state-to-state, all over the country.
Simple. Register with The Queerist and start posting your events and/or listing your venues. You can promote just about anything so long as it's queer focused or queer-friendly.
You do. We trust the users of The Queerist to post the best, most current stuff first. And since it's totally free to post events and list your venue, we can pretty much guarantee our site (which is actually you and your friends' site) will always have the coolest shit first.
Occasionally, we might list somethings as "Editor's Choice" or "The Queerist's Favorite" but for now, all the front page features are randomly generated from the big list of venues and events in our database. If you're interested in advertising, shoot us an email and we'll work out a sweet deal.
Let's be perfectly honest: there are already waaay too many social networks out there (we know because we have profiles on about twenty of them) and there are plenty of decent gay and straight sites listing cool stuff to do. There isn't, however, something well designed, easy to use and completely tailored to queer social circles. The Queerist offers you and your friends quality content, good design and intuitive functionality. It's pretty much a no-brainer.
It really depends, but we promise it's worth every penny. Email us and we'll send you our media kit, pricing and special incentives ASAP.
The Queerist was started by a genderqueer San Francisco boi frustrated by all the websites listing out-of-business bars and out-of-date events. Firebelly, a small progressive design firm based in Chicago, pimped out the pages, working both style and function. A couple of queers manage the daily operations. And you, you’re bringing it! Content, that is.
Events are things you do. Venues are places you go. The Queerist organizes both types of listings into one massive searchable database and lets people post and search for free.
The Queerist is a gay-centric calendar/event site with social network tendencies. We're about getting people off their ass, off their computers and out of the house to experience fun stuff and new places. We're not about tethering people to their laptops, online cliques or their Top 8. With up-to-date venue listings and an ever-growing showcase of events, The Queerist promises to get you out and experiencing the world.
We're open to any and all ideas! Click the big FEEDBACK button in the top navigation strip and tell us your thoughts.
Join our growing army of bloggers, promoters and cultural connoisseurs. We're always on the prowl for the next great party, sexy special event or kick-ass activity. So if you've got something to share that could classify as queer and fun—join our ranks, post an event or promote your venue. Everything that goes up on The Queerist is instantaneously searchable by any and everyone visiting the site and can be further shared and promoted via email and social bookmarking and networking sites.
The site's variety and authenticity comes directly from the everyday folks contributing events and venues to the site. If you feel like we're light on certain types of events or kinds of venues, it's up to you to change that. The Queerist is easy to use and totally free so there's really no excuse for you to not fill in the gaps!
Yes and no. The Queerist is for the queer community: people participating in a specific scene, lifestyle and pursuit. We're all part of a particular school of thought and way of being— and we love it. But we're not elitist blowhards running some sort of private club. The Queerist has room in its ranks for all sorts of events and venues as long as they're gay focused or gay-friendly.
